WeekSlice Terms of Use
The short version
- Apple's Standard End User License Agreement governs your license to use WeekSlice. These terms only add points specific to this app.
- What you create in the app belongs to you. It stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own private iCloud storage. We don't receive it.
- If you use Siri with the app, Apple processes what you say under Apple's privacy policy.
- The built-in recipes and templates are for your personal use.
- Reminders, calendar events and iCloud sync help you plan, but they can fail. Don't rely on the app alone for anything critical.
- Recipes and meal plans are not medical, nutritional or allergy advice.
- The app is free. If we ever add a paid upgrade, Apple will handle the payment, and refunds go through Apple.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover
WeekSlice is published by 222 Media Group, LLC, a [STATE OF ORGANIZATION] limited liability company ("we", "us"). These terms cover your use of the WeekSlice app, including its widgets, Control Center controls, Home Screen quick actions and Siri and Shortcuts actions. They also cover the app's web pages at https://222mediagrp.com/weekslice.
These terms are linked from the app's App Store page and from Settings in the app. To open Settings, tap the gear on the Home tab. The link is under About. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
If you're under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
2. Apple's license agreement comes first
WeekSlice is sold only through Apple's App Store. Your license to use it is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add points specific to WeekSlice. If they conflict with the Standard EULA on a licensing question, the Standard EULA wins.
We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and for supporting it. Apple services the app relies on, such as iCloud, Siri, notifications and the App Store, are covered by Apple's own terms and privacy policy.
3. Using the app
You may use WeekSlice for your own personal planning on the Apple devices you own or control, as the Standard EULA allows. Please don't:
- use the app to break the law or to infringe anyone else's rights;
- copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, except where the law gives you a right to do so that can't be waived;
- try to get around any part of the app that controls access to features, including any future paid upgrade;
- use the app in a way that harms it, other people, or Apple's services.
4. Your content
Your tasks, routines, meals, recipes, chores, reminders, templates, shopping lists and other entries ("your content") belong to you. We claim no ownership of them.
Your content is stored on your device. If you're signed in to iCloud and iCloud is turned on for WeekSlice, Apple's iCloud also keeps a copy in your private iCloud database. We have no access to that database, and we don't receive your content on any server of ours. That means we can't see, recover or restore it for you.
If you use the app's Siri and Shortcuts actions, Siri handles what you say, such as the title of a task you add, and may read a task title back to you. Apple processes this under Apple's terms and privacy policy.
You're responsible for your content and for keeping the backups you want. iCloud storage is provided by Apple under Apple's terms, and your content counts toward your iCloud storage.
The app can read your calendar if you allow it. It only reads. It never adds, changes or deletes calendar events.
How the app handles data is explained in our Privacy Policy.
5. Built-in recipes and templates
The app comes with built-in recipes and week templates. You can use, edit and delete them for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't republish or sell them as a collection.
Most recipes were written for the app. Their quantities and times are estimates, so adjust them to your kitchen. A few are adapted from public-domain cookbooks and credited in the app. The original public-domain text remains free for anyone to use. Our own writing, selection and arrangement are ours.
6. Reminders, calendar and sync are aids, not guarantees
WeekSlice helps you plan. It doesn't guarantee that anything will happen on time. In particular:
- Reminders are local notifications delivered by your device's operating system. They may not appear if notifications are turned off, a Focus is on, the device is off, or the system delays or groups them.
- Calendar events depend on your calendar accounts and on the permission you give in your device's settings. They may be incomplete or out of date.
- iCloud sync is provided by Apple. It can be delayed, can fail during outages, and stops when your iCloud storage is full.
- Widgets show a snapshot that refreshes when you use the app, so they can lag behind.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for missed reminders, sync delays or iCloud outages, or for what happens as a result. For anything important, such as medication, appointments or deadlines, use more than one way to remember it.
7. Food, recipes and health
Recipes, meal plans and shopping lists in the app are general information. They are not medical, nutritional, dietary or allergy advice. We don't check recipes for allergens or for your dietary needs. Always read ingredient labels, follow safe food-handling and cooking practices, and talk to a qualified professional about allergies, health conditions or diet.
8. Paid features and refunds
WeekSlice is free. We may later offer an optional paid upgrade as an in-app purchase. If we do, Apple will process the payment under Apple's terms, and we will never see your payment details. Refund requests go to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves. Features that are free when you download the app won't be taken away and resold as part of an upgrade.
9. Changes and availability
Subject to section 8, we may update the app by adding, changing or removing features, and we may stop offering it. We'll try to give notice of major changes in the App Store release notes. We don't promise that the app will work on every device or operating system version, or that it will be available in every country.
If you've bought a paid upgrade, we'll only change or remove what you paid for when there's a good reason, such as security, a legal requirement or a change to Apple's operating systems. We'll tell you in advance. If a change materially harms your use of what you paid for, you can ask Apple for a refund or contact us.
If we add a feature that sends your content off your device to anyone other than Apple (for iCloud sync and Siri), we will update the Privacy Policy first and tell you in the app.
10. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the app is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that it will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that it will meet every need. Where the law implies warranties we can't exclude, those warranties last only as long as the law requires.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, lost profits or missed appointments, arising from your use of the app;
- our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of what you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50.
If you live in the UK, the EU or another place with similar consumer laws, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. That includes damage to your device or digital content caused by the app. The exclusions and the cap above don't apply to that loss.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for our gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and for your rights under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
12. Ending these terms
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. Your right to use the app ends automatically if you seriously break these terms. Sections 4, 7 and 10 to 13 still apply after that.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE OF ORGANIZATION], United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in [STATE OF ORGANIZATION].
If you are a consumer living somewhere else, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws where you live. You may also bring a claim in your local courts if those laws allow it.
Before filing a claim, please email us. Most problems can be fixed quickly.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms only for a good reason: a change in the law or in Apple's rules, a new or changed feature, a security issue, or to make the terms clearer.
When we do, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll also tell you in the app and give you reasonable notice before it takes effect.
If you don't accept a change, you can stop using the app and delete it. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. A change to these terms won't reduce the rights you've already paid for.
